Burn Everything – Free Tracks For Xmas – Day 7

Free Tracks For Xmas – Day 7 sees things taking a turn for the heavy.

If bands like Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan & Burnt By The Sun get you all fired up then prepare yourself for these chaps…

Moving things up another notch are Burn Everything – Directed By David Lynch. And when you’ve grabbed it be sure to head over to the guys Bandcamp for the full beast. Patrick got his ears around the full album

There are days when you want to create, and there are days when you just want to burn it all to the ground. If your mood is the latter, then Rochester, NY’s Burn Everything will provide the fuel for that conflagration. Their latest EP Last Run Through The Ruins mixes equal parts hardcore and prog to create a killer sound that’s as technical as it is heavy.

Right off the bat, you can tell these lads aren’t fooling around. The music is angry, the riffs precise and the vocals top notch. To be a great hardcore band, you need a great vocalist. Matt Dalberth has an excellent range, spewing out lyrics with conviction.

The second song, ‘Directed By David Lynch’, is a barnburner of a track. Angular guitars compliment exceptional drumming and smart pacing. Burn Everything knows how to change tempos for full affect; experimenting without losing the focus of the song. Though most of the tracks are 2-3 minutes long, each conveys its message completely and effectively.

Last Run Through The Ruins is energetic, brutal music with a purpose. It is refreshing to see a talented band extend hardcore beyond the call and response rut. I’m looking forward to much more from Burn Everything. Definitely should be checked out!
