Meat Wagon, the latest single from Belfast rockers ‘LaFaro’, is a very much needed shot of adrenaline soaked rock n’ roll aimed straight at the balls.
Their sound is a collaboration of the best hard/punk rock acts. A Wildhearts-ian riff slides effortlessly into a dirty pedal note grind, similar to that of Rob Zombie’s ‘Superbeast’, before smacking you round the back of the head with a discordant bridge that’ll keep you bouncing off the walls for a week. The second half only lets up just long enough for the sweat to reach your mouth, before you’re thrown headfirst, into the mid-section, where pulverising riffs are delivered blow after blow.
This is music for dancing like a loon, while simultaneously quaffing large amounts of booze and worrying about the bruises in the morning. The album now firmly seated at the top of my ‘most anticipated’ list for this year.
A UK tour is announced for September. See you at the front!
